ReplyDeleteif he doesn't put in the effort to play his role as a dad, doesn't mean that you don't put in effort albeit it might be minimal to perform your role as a son. Sometimes the old folks really do live in their own world and are stubborn like that.
If we can't change others, we can change ourselves. It is better for you, and him. Life is too short to make all the mistakes yourself, give your best shot and you wont regret regardless of the outcome.
You are intelligent, and gifted in many ways. And one of the person you shld be thankful for (for everything that you have and possess), is your father. He may not be a father figure to you, but he has provided for you all these years, and this is how he loves you.
He might not know how to show his love to his children, so you teach him. Slowly, one step at a time. You can do this bestie, I have absolute faith in you. Fight for life!!! Im trying to make the best out of all my circumstances as much as I can now. And so must you, otherwise we'll lose out alot. Most imptly are the life lessons that are invaluable. Lets treasure whatever we have now.
